As it’s the last day of the year, I’ve chosen four favourite things that have seen me through the last month:
- Body Brushing
I feel like I’m late to the game on this but having read about the benefits of body brushing for YEARS I finally bought one. I went for the ‘Mytlp Bath Body Brush‘ with natural bristles and ‘massage nodules reducing cellulite toxins‘…well with that name why WOULDN’T you buy it. Body brushing is great for boosting circulation- you’re supposed to do it in upward strokes starting at the legs and working towards the heart. It’s also an amazing exfoliator and gets all the toxins out- you can see why this is more effective than any cream-based product. It was also £5.96 so a total bargain!
2. The Organic Pharmacy- Honey and Jasmine Mask
This came in a Feel Unique box that I got at the Elle Weekender. It is loooovely and smells just like the Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily mask which is also dreamy but double the price. I used this for 10-15 minutes every time my skin felt a bit tired and dry and it just made everything plumper and nourished. It’s also got rose hip and evening primrose so moisture a-go-go and no irritations after. Mine was a sample but costs £37.95 on the Organic Pharmacy website.
3. Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara- Black
A make-up product this time. The last week and a half I haven’t been wearing mascara because my eyes have been irritated (great) but until that point, I was very much enjoying this. It’s kohl-pigmented and lasts a whole day easily. It makes your lashes look really full and voluminous with no clumping. It’s £25 so more expensive than your average Maybelline, Rimmel, L’Oreal (I didn’t actually purchase it but got it in a gift for spending over X amount- would definitely purchase though)
4. Nars Afterglow Lip Balm
This was a birthday gift to myself from the Covent Garden boutique. I’m not a lip gloss fan so this is spot-on for using a balm which also gives a sheer colour so can be worn during the day or at night with a stronger eye look. It also just looks bloody beautiful in a make-up bag. I wouldn’t normally spend £22 on a glamorous lip balm but like I said I gifted myself.
So there you have it folks ~ happy new year!
