It’s the most wonderful time of the year… except for my face
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, mulled wine and decking those halls. The festive season is well a truly here, lights are up, party invites received and everything is beginning to have that soft, warm, candlelit glow, which is a blessing considering.
Christmas is that time of year when it becomes acceptable to drink something with a percentage before 12pm, eat in a constant, steady flow and use the excuse ‘well as it’s Christmas…’ for literally everything.
Sugar, canapes and late nights are few people’s friends and yet I seem to embrace them wholeheartedly at this time of year which means my face ends up puffy, dehydrated and generally dull. Make-up can only do so much and I’m a firm believer of ‘don’t cover it up, fix the underlying issue’.
So favourite things:
- With extra days off work I use them for #selfcare. Sheet mask, bath, manicure, and all the lotions.
- A jade roller in the fridge = puffiness be gone.
- I keep a water bottle in my bag in place of a hip flask
- Take make up off properly at night and cleanse properly in the morning- Christmas party makeup is only appropriate at the Christmas party, not on your pillow.
